Maeve Celtic Goddess Statue - Bronze Finish

$72.95

Default Title

This statuary depicts Maeve, the Celtic goddess and warrior queen in Irish mythology. Originally spelled Medb, the Irish goddess’s name means “intoxication”, as she was seen as causing many of her manly suitors to act as drunk under her spell.  Maeve signifies a warrior spirit and the power of womanhood and motherhood.

This stunning statue shows her seated on her throne, adorned in her armor, a knife on the floor as an unspoken challenge to her title and power. On the back of the throne is the head of a bull--the bull she sought during the story of Táin Bó Cúailnge, or “The Cattle Raid of Cooley”, as well as crossed spears to show her warrior nature, and a pentacle-embossed chalice full of grain to show the power of her femininity and fertility.

Size: 6 1/2" x 7" x 10 3/4”

Bronze cold cast resin. The patina on these statuary are hand-finished and may slightly vary.
