Gabon Ebony Handled Athame-7 5/8 inch

Default Title
This black, Ebony wood handled athame is a great fit for anyone looking for a traditional styled ritual athame. The cross guard is made of brass as well as the pommel. The Handle is made from Gabon Ebony, which is grown in the Republic of the Congo as well as Nigeria, in Africa.

The athame measures in at 7 5/8" x 3 1/4" inch. The blade is hand forged from O-1 Tool Steel, which is an oil hardening tool steel (high carbon content). Hardened to Rc 58-60 on the Rockwell C scale, this steel will hold a very good edge. Being that it is tool steel, it needs to be protected with either high grade oil or with a silicone gun cloth. I personally use a silicone gun cloth due to ease of keeping protected. Unprotected tool steel will rust. Keep dry and oiled and this heirloom quality athame will last a lifetime. This athame comes with a hand sewn, vegitable tanned leather Sheath also crafted by Grey Bear. Hand Forged and created with the utmost purist intentions for majikal use. Makes the perfect gift for that special Pagan in your life or for yourself. Hand crafted by Grey Bear in my studio in Port Richey, FL. Browse more of my athames and pagan items here
