Damascus Blade Ritual Pagan Athame
This ritual pagan athame was painstakingly forged using the Damascus Technique, which consists of 256 layers of multiple types of steel to give it the patterned effect. This athame has a total length of 7 1/8 inch with a 3 1/8 inch Damascus blade. Brass cross guard and pommel. The handle is made from Purpleheart grown in Brazil or tropical rain forests of South America. You will also receive a hand sewn, vegetable tanned leather sheath, also crafted by Grey Bear. Hand Forged and created with the utmost purist intentions for majikal use during the Waxing moon. Makes the perfect gift for that special Pagan in your life or for yourself. Hand crafted by Grey Bear in my studio in Port Richey, FL.
The Damascus Steel is hand forged from 52110 ball bearing grade steel, 5160 sping steel, 203E steel and 15n20 steel. This steel is hardened to Rc 58-60 on the Rockwell C scale, which allows the steel holds a very good edge. Being made from different types of tool steel it needs to be protected with either High grade oil or silicone gun cloth. I personally use silicone gun cloth due to ease of keeping protected. Unprotected tool steel will rust. Keep dry and oiled this will last a lifetime.
